About Me
I graduated from Appalachian State University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Community and Regional Planning. I spent 35 years in the planning profession in North Carolina primarily with the Western Piedmont Council of Governments (WPCOG) based in Hickory, NC. I worked with all of the WPCOG’s four counties and twenty-four municipalities during that time. My primary interests and responsibilities were in land use, transportation, and environmental planning. I retired in 2013 as Director of the Planning, Community Development, and Data Services Department. Since that time I have worked part-time as a planning consultant and currently serve on the Town of Boone Planning Commission.
